How Pick'em works

Pick a winner

Every NHL game on tonight's slate gets a card. Tap the team you think wins. Change your mind as often as you like until puck drop.

Locks at puck drop

Each game locks at its scheduled start time. After that your pick can't be added, changed or removed, and everyone's picks for that game become visible.

Scoring

1 point for every correct pick. Overtime and shootout wins count the same as regulation wins. There are no bonus points and nothing to wager: it's just for fun.

Ties on the leaderboard

Players level on points are ordered by pick percentage, then by fewer games graded. Skipped games don't count against you, but they don't earn points either.

Streaks

Your current streak counts consecutive correct picks, in puck-drop order. One miss resets it; your best streak of the season is kept.

Beat the model

The BluelineMetrics model makes a pick in every game too, using the same win probabilities as our nightly board. It sits on the leaderboard as blueline-model. See it after you pick, or flip the Show model switch.

Leagues

Create a private league, share the invite link, and get a leaderboard with just your group. Friends shows you plus the people you follow.

Grading

Results are recorded automatically from final scores, usually within 30 minutes of the final horn. Postponed games are not graded.
